Found a stat saying 40% of commercial diving injuries happen in less than 30 feet of water - that blew my mind

I was reading the latest Diver's Alert Network report and saw that number - we always gear up for deep stuff but the shallow wrecks and pier work are apparently the real killers. Do you think we overprepare for depth and slack off on the simple dives?

My dad had the same problem with ladders, always scared of the big ones but fell off a two-step stool.

@elizabeth_chen that "always scared of the big ones but fell off a two-step stool" part hits hard. It's always the small stuff that gets you because you let your guard down. Ladders are just mean no matter what size they come in.

Who actually double checks their gear in 20 feet?
