Dropped $340 on a fiber optic splice kit that turned out to be a paperweight
Bought the thing off a guy at a swap meet in Galveston back in March. He swore it came off a working ROV job. Got it home, opened it up, and the fusion unit was dead. No arc, no nothing. Took it to a shop and the tech just laughed and said the chamber was cracked. So that's $340 gone. Has anyone found a decent used splicer that doesn't come with a story?
