I figured I could save some cash on a knockoff weight insert for my Kirby Morgan 37 and picked one up for $650 from a guy who sells surplus gear out of a shop in Morgan City. It looked fine on the bench, but on our first wet test in the Gulf it flooded my helmet seal at 40 feet and I had to blow it up to the surface. The shop would not take it back and said it was sold as-is. I ended up eating the $650 plus two lost hours of dive time. Has anyone found a used OEM insert that did not turn into a paperweight?
