Which comic book reader is worse: the one who bends the spine or the one who skips to the end first?

I had to choose between lending my ASM 300 to a guy who dog-ears pages or a girl who reads the last 3 pages as soon as she opens it... I picked the spoiler reader and she ruined the Goblin twist for me before I even started. Who do you think is the bigger menace to a collection?

ASM 300 with a dog-ear sounds like a nightmare. I'd take the spoiler reader too, but only if I could hide the last pages with a binder clip. Do you vet new people by asking about spine care or just test them with a cheap book first?

Nah, you're both wrong. The real menace is the "casual borrower" who swears they'll take care of it then leaves the book sitting in their car for three weeks. At least the spoiler reader and the dog-ear guy are upfront about their crimes. You can plan around them. The silent killer is who tells you "I'll be super careful" and then you find your book crammed sideways in their backpack with a loose pen rubbing against the cover. That's the one who gets blacklisted for life.
