Watched a guy at my local shop spend 45 minutes arguing about continuity errors in a 1975 issue of Amazing Spider-Man

The best move is to walk away and find something else to look at. I've been in comic shops long enough to know that arguing with those guys just drains your whole day. Grab your stuff and go to the register early if you can. Its not worth getting pulled into a debate about panel lines from the 70s. He'll eventually tire himself out and leave. Just pretend you have a phone call or something.

Totally agree with you there. Last week this guy cornered me near the collected editions for a solid twenty minutes arguing about whether Miller or Mazzucchelli did the better Batman year one. I just nodded a few times and slowly backed away toward the register. @rose_murray is right, those debates never go anywhere. Its easier to just claim you left your wallet in the car and make a run for it.
