That comic book signing at Midtown Comics ruined collecting for me
I waited 4 hours in line last Saturday to get a sketch from a big name artist and the guy barely looked up, just scribbled and pushed my book back. Watching the dealer next to me cut the line with 20 grails to flip made me realize this hobby is all about who you know and how much cash you flash. Anyone else feel like these events have turned into a rich man's game where regular fans get treated like an afterthought?

What is it with these big name guys acting like they're signing autographs at a funeral? Four hours and I'd have been tempted to "accidentally" spill my coffee on his fancy table. The dealer with the grails sounds like the same guy who shows up at my job sites with a Rolex and zero clue how to hold a hammer.

Started going to smaller shops for signings and had way better luck. The artists actually chat with you and don't look like they'd rather be anywhere else.
