My comic shop guy showed me the $1 bin is where all the good stuff hides
I used to only buy new releases at cover price, which burned a hole in my wallet fast. Then the owner at Heroes Haven in Tampa told me to dig through their dollar boxes every Wednesday, and I pulled 14 old X-Men issues for under $15 total. Two of them turned out to be worth way more than I paid once I checked the guide. Does anyone else hunt dollar bins, or am I the only one digging through cardboard like a raccoon?
Dollar bins are basically lottery tickets that always pay out in reading material. Found a beat up copy of Giant Size X-Men #1 in one once, cover hanging by a staple, and the guy still only charged me a buck. Half the fun is the hunt, the other half is pretending you're not crouched on the floor for an hour. Raccoon life is the only life.
