My comic box exploded at a con in Chicago, total chaos

I was at C2E2 last March flipping through a long box and a guy bumped the shelf, sent like 40 issues everywhere. My toddler was with me and started grabbing What If? issues off the floor, I nearly lost a #12 variant. We spent 15 minutes sorting by title and condition right there in the aisle. Anyone else had a convention disaster like this, how did you keep your cool and salvage the pulls?

Oh man, was that you with the little kid grabbing books off the floor? I had something close happen at a con in Baltimore, a dude knocked over a whole spinner rack and my stack of trades went everywhere. My friend's dog was with us and started chewing on a corner of my Saga deluxe edition before I even noticed. We just laughed and grabbed everything first, sorted the mess later at a table with some tacos after. The trick is to get the kids or pets away from the comics and worry about order later, you did the right thing.
