My brother said to skip the single issues and wait for trades, I fought him on it for a year
My brother has been reading comics way longer than me and he kept saying to stop buying single issues at $4.99 a pop and just wait for the trade paperback. I told him I liked having the floppies and being caught up month to month, so I ignored him for about a year. Then I added up what I spent on 6 ongoing series and it came to almost $360, plus a long box that's already full and bagged issues I never reread. Last month I switched to trades only and picked up 4 complete storylines for $70 total at a shop in Tacoma. The stories read way better in one sitting too, no waiting 3 weeks for the next chapter. Now I'm wondering if I should go digital to save shelf space, has anyone made that jump and regretted it?
Man that math hitting $360 is rough, I feel you. Been there with a long box full of stuff I never touched again, so you're not alone in figuring this out late. Digital is tempting for the space but I still miss flipping pages, idk.
