Just realized how different my local shop's vibe is from the big chain

I've been going to Comics Plus in my town for years, and I tried the new MegaComix store at the mall last week. The chain store had more new releases, sure, but the staff at my local spot remembered my name and actually asked about the 'X-Men' run I was picking up. It felt like a real conversation, not a transaction. That personal touch is what keeps me driving the extra fifteen minutes. Anyone else have a shop that just gets the community part right?

I mean, is that a bad thing? I kind of like the privacy.
