Hit exactly 1,000 issues in my collection last night and it felt weird

I was just sorting through some old boxes and decided to count everything. 1,000 on the dot. I didn't plan it or anything. Most of it is random Marvel stuff from the 90s, but there's some early Invincible in there too. Didn't think I'd hit that number so soon. Anyone else ever just stop and count what they have?

Honestly I gotta push back a little on the whole 'hitting a big number' thing feeling all that special. In my experience once you cross that threshold it just kinda messes with your head in a bad way. You start looking at your shelves differently like every issue you add after that is just padding instead of something you actually wanted. It turns collecting into a numbers game instead of something you do for fun. I'd say be careful with that milestone because it can quietly shift why you're even in this hobby in the first place.
