Got into a spat about 'real fans' at my local shop yesterday

I was picking up my weekly pulls (you know, the usual) when two guys started arguing. One claimed only people who read the comics count as true fans, and the other argued movie watchers are just as valid. It got pretty heated, and I felt caught in the middle. What do you all think, where do you draw the line?

Yeah that's so true, it's like they spend more time making rules than actually enjoying the thing. Reminds me of this dude at a show last year yelling at kids for not knowing the deep cuts, meanwhile he's on his phone the whole set. Spot on point from leo_hart13, it's just weird behavior.
