A guy at my local shop in Reno swore Watchmen is overrated and I could not let it go
I was digging through the dollar bins at a shop on Virginia Street in Reno six months ago when this guy next to me picked up Watchmen and dropped it back down, saying the movie ruined it for everyone. I asked what he meant and he went on for ten minutes about how the book is just a cold puzzle and the characters never feel real. I pushed back hard, because that coldness is the point, the whole thing is about people who dress up and have no idea how to connect. He shrugged and walked off to the Marvel racks. Anybody here ever had a stranger change how you see a book you have loved for years, or is it always just noise?
