A dude at my local shop in Fresno spent 20 minutes explaining why I was reading Saga wrong
He grabbed issue 1 off the wall and flipped to the page where the narration and the art are doing two different things at once, and it honestly kind of wrecked me. I have been reading the book for 3 years just skimming the captions, and now I keep going back to see what else I missed. Anyone else ever get shown you were reading a book on autopilot?

Did he really change how you read it though, or did you just feel bad in the moment and now you're noticing stuff you would've caught anyway? Honestly Saga lays it all out pretty clear, so if you were skimming captions for 3 years that's more on you than some guy in Fresno. Sounds like you just needed a wake up call, not a lesson.
