My sidewalk chalk test caught a palette problem before the client did
I put together a color coded schedule for a local rec center last month, three print copies and a PDF. Everything looked obvious to me, but my buddy who is color blind glanced at it and couldn't tell the red and green sections apart. So I bought a $4 pack of sidewalk chalk and redrew the schedule on the pavement outside, just using red and green. It took ten minutes and confirmed the issue instantly, swapped to blue and orange in the file and reordered prints. Anyone else ever use a weird low tech trick to test their colors?

Did the chalk test change how you pick colors for future projects, or was it just a one off fix for this schedule? Seems like the kind of thing that would make you second guess every red green combo you use down the road. I’m curious if it stuck with you or if you just moved on after swapping the palette.
