My red push pins were invisible to my coworker for a year

I manage the back room at a hardware store in Tulsa. We use a big corkboard for inventory alerts. I marked urgent items with red push pins, always thought it was obvious. Last week my coworker said he couldn't see them at all. Turned out he's deuteranopia, red and green look the same. I switched to blue pins and a bold black marker next to each one. Took one day, now he catches stock issues before they snowball. Anyone else have a work setup that failed a color blind teammate?
