My eye doctor in Phoenix said to just crank up the saturation, that was the worst tip I ever got
Three years ago I was complaining to my eye doctor about red/green stuff on websites and he goes, just turn up the saturation on your monitor, it will make the colors pop. So I did that for about 8 months on my home setup. It did not help even a little. Red and green bars on charts still looked the same to me, and worse, the high saturation made my eyes tired after 20 minutes of work. What actually worked was a $0 bookmarklet that swaps red/green fills for blue/orange, which I found reading a forum thread at 1am. Also started using the built-in colorblind modes on Windows 11 and that helped way more than any slider ever did. Now I want to know, what tips sound smart but did nothing for you?
