My brother in law told me a red/green toggle was fine, and I stared at it for 20 seconds
He said the red "on" and green "off" lights were obvious enough, but when I tested it with my neighbor who has deuteranopia he couldn't tell which one was lit. I switched to a dot versus a line shape instead. What do you all use when a status light can't rely on color at all?
Geez, 20 seconds is a long time to stare at a light, but is this really a big deal for most people? Colorblind folks are maybe 8 percent of men, so a shape difference covers way more people for basically zero cost. Honestly if your neighbor could not tell, that alone is reason enough to just make the switch and move on.
