Mocked the colorblind simulator app, then it caught a real issue in my lobby design
Last month a client in Portland sent me a mockup for their office lobby, and I thought the green and red accent walls looked fine. My buddy who's colorblind kept saying it was a mess, so I downloaded one of those simulator apps to see what he meant. Turns out the two shades basically merge into a muddy brown blob, and the wayfinding sign I picked had identical contrast on both colors. I laughed at the app at first, but after running the whole plan through it, I spotted three spots where people could literally walk into a wall. Have any of you used a simulator on a real project and found something you'd have never caught on your own?

I mean, I once designed a menu that turned invisible, so yeah, I feel your pain.
