I used to think colorblind simulators were just a gimmick
When I was working on a dashboard for a client, my coworker insisted I run it through a simulator called 'Color Oracle'. I rolled my eyes but did it anyway. Seeing the whole interface turn into a confusing mess of similar browns and greens was a real shock. How do you guys test your work for different types of color vision?

Yeah, that moment of seeing your own work just fall apart is rough. I once spent a week on this chart only to find out the red and green data lines looked identical to my friend with deuteranomaly. Felt like I'd been designing with one eye closed.

Accessibility fails like that can really sneak up on you. My nephew can't tell the difference between certain blues and purples, which made a family photo album I made pretty confusing for him. It's easy to forget our own view isn't the only one.
