Can we talk about those online charts that use only red and green? | Colorblind Friendly Design

I was trying to read a sales chart at work yesterday and it took me 15 minutes to figure out which line was up and which was down. I'm red-green colorblind and they looked almost the same. I had to ask my coworker, Jake, to point it out. Has anyone found a good tool for checking charts before you send them out?

What about those colorblind simulators online?

Which simulator do you use, the free one you mentioned?

Tell me about it. My last boss sent out a pie chart where the red and green slices looked identical to me. I had to guess which part was our biggest expense. @dixon.rose has the right idea with those simulators. I run everything through a free one now before any meeting. It shows you what your graph looks like to different types of colorblind people. It saved me from sending a totally confusing bar chart to our whole team last week.
