Warm white LED strips turned my living room green

I bought a set of cheap LED strips labeled "warm white 3000K" for my basement project and when I turned them on everything looked sickly green instead of cozy yellow. Took me 2 hours to realize the manufacturer used a green phosphor coating instead of the standard orange one - always check the CRI rating before you buy or you'll waste your whole evening repainting.

My buddy Mike bought "cool white" bulbs from a gas station and his kitchen looked like a science lab for a month.

Science lab for a month" is exactly right, cool white gas station bulbs must be like 6000K or something ridiculous. Mike probably thought he was getting a deal but ended up feeling like he was getting an eye exam every time he cooked dinner. I bet his kitchen looked sterile enough to perform surgery in, not exactly the cozy vibe you want for a bowl of cereal at midnight.
