Wait do people actually follow that rule or is it more like a suggestion? I tried it once and ended up with a room that looked like a sports bar.

Oh man @felix478, "looked like a sports bar" made me laugh out loud! That rule is definitely more of a loose guideline than a hard law. I think people like to toss it around because it sounds smart, but half the time they're just guessing. When I tried following it, my room ended up looking like a discount store threw up in it. You really have to eyeball it and adjust for your own space. Honestly, if you accidentally made a sports bar vibe, just lean into it and put a dartboard up or something!
