Tried a warm gray background on a real estate brochure and the whole thing looked muddy

Spent 3 hours on a duplex listing for a client in Portland last Tuesday, thought a warm gray (#B0A89A) would make the interior photos pop. But the print shop ran it on uncoated stock and the gray blended into the paper so bad the white text became unreadable. I should have tested it on the actual paper type first instead of just my monitor. Has anyone else had a similar issue with warm grays disappearing on matte paper?

Oh man, that's brutal lol. I had the exact same thing happen with a warm gray on a brochure for a coffee shop last year. Looked perfect on screen but came out looking like dirty dishwater on the paper. Learned my lesson real quick to always proof on the actual stock.
