That tip about checking contrast on a phone screen saved my poster
My instructor at the Pratt summer workshop kept saying to check color combos on a phone at half brightness. I thought it was overkill, but I finally tried it on my latest gig poster. The orange and teal looked fine on my monitor, but on the phone the teal just disappeared into the background. Fixed it with a darker shade and now the text pops from across the room. Anyone else test their palettes on a small screen before sending to print?

Same thing happened to me with a purple and pink combo, the phone test saved my ass before a big client print.

The 40% saturation drop on my test print was the first clue, not gonna lie, @nora735. Purple and pink are sneaky like that, they look fine on screen but the phone test catches the mud before it hits paper. I learned the hard way on a batch of fliers for a local art fair, had to redo 200 of them. Your big client print dodged a bullet there. Always double check on a real screen, not the preview in the design app. That saved me more times than I can count now.
