Swapped a client's palette from warm to cool and it killed their bounce rate
I was working on a landing page for a dental clinic in Austin last month. Their original colors were all oranges and yellows, and their bounce rate was sitting at 68%. Switched the hero section to blues and teals based on some color psychology research by a guy named Joe Hallock, and that number dropped to 52% in just two weeks. Has anyone else seen a big shift in user behavior just from changing hues like that?

People sleeping on the part where your color change might have just made the site actually readable. Those warm yellows and oranges on a landing page are brutal for people with certain types of color vision deficiency, like red green colorblindness. Blues and teals have way better contrast across all types of colorblind users, so you might have accidentally fixed accessibility while chasing that psychology research. Could explain the bounce rate drop better than any mood or trust factor. Also worth checking if the old warm palette had bad contrast ratios on the text buttons, making them hard to find. That alone would tank engagement even for people with normal vision.
