Stopped using pure black on my website backgrounds after a designer friend called me out
Honestly, I used to always set my background color to #000000 because I thought it looked clean and modern. But my friend who does UI work saw my portfolio site and said it was hurting my eyes and making text hard to read. She showed me how using a very dark gray, like #1a1a1a, actually feels more comfortable and lets the other colors breathe. Now I test every dark background with a simple readability check before I commit. Has anyone else made this swap and noticed a difference in how people react to your work?

Yeah, that designer friend did you a solid. I made the same switch a while back and it really does make everything feel way less harsh on the eyes.

Did you change the color temp too or just the brightness?
