I fought him on this for months because it sounded lazy, but he made me match 30 print jobs in a row without the Pantone book and only 2 came back from customers. Now half the shop swears the deck is a crutch that makes you stop really looking at the sheet, while the other half says eyeballing is how you end up with a red that turns brown under the warehouse lights. Which side are you on, tested by eye or by the book?
