Just finished a logo project where I tested a 60-30-10 rule against a random palette
The 60-30-10 layout made the design feel balanced and professional, while the random one looked messy and confused the client. The main color was a specific Pantone blue, which anchored everything. Has anyone else had a client who fought a structured color plan at first?

Have you tried showing them a side-by-side comparison on a mockup first? I usually throw the random palette on some business cards or a website header next to the structured one. The client almost always picks the 60-30-10 without me even pushing it. That Pantone blue really does the heavy lifting though, it gives you a solid foundation to build from.

Yeah, that Pantone blue anchor is key. Clients always come around when they see the final, balanced look.

Totally agree with @emmar75. I read a case study where a designer had to show three failed random drafts before the client finally accepted the structured plan.
