Fight with a painter friend over warm vs cool lighting in my studio - still not sure who was right
So I was working on a mural project in my garage last month, and my buddy Jake swung by to help. He kept insisting I switch to cool LED bulbs because they show true colors better for mixing paint. I argued that warm light is more forgiving and gives a nicer vibe to work in. He pointed at my yellow ochre mix and said 'that's gonna look completely different under the sun' and walked off. We ended up testing it the next day and honestly he was kind of right, but I still prefer working in warm light. Anyone else pick a side on this and stick with it?

Is picking a light bulb really worth a fight with a friend?

Three years ago I literally almost lost a friendship over which light bulb to put in a shared apartment lamp. My friend insisted on a soft white bulb and I was team daylight, and we stood there in the hardware aisle for like 20 minutes arguing. @elizabeth_chen I feel like the real question isn't if it's worth a fight, but why we both cared so much about something so dumb. I mean, now I look back and cringe because we were basically fighting over freaking lumens and color temperature. Maybe it's just me but I think it was more about control than the actual bulb, you know? Idk, I ended up just buying two bulbs and letting her pick first, which is honestly the most mature thing I've ever done in my life.
