Client told me my blues were 'too cold' and it made me rethink my whole palette

I was working on a logo for a local coffee shop in Portland and I kept using this bright cyan blue that I thought looked clean and modern. The owner told me it made the brand feel impersonal and cold, like a tech startup instead of a cozy cafe. I swapped to a warmer teal with a touch of yellow in it and suddenly the whole thing felt inviting. Has anyone else had a client's one comment completely shift how you pick colors?

A friend of mine had a client say her red felt too angry and she switched to a dusty rose instead.

That dusty rose thing is so common now. Walk into any home goods store and it's like they banned bold colors entirely. Everything is muted, soft, dusty, like nobody wants to commit to a real feeling. It's not just paint either - clothes, car colors, even food packaging all went beige. We're afraid of anything that might make a statement. Makes you wonder if we're all just trying not to offend anyone with our color choices.
