Blue and yellow combo failed me on a storefront job
Always heard those two colors were a safe bet. High contrast and all that. Painted a coffee shop sign in Portland with a bright yellow background and navy blue text. Looked perfect in the shop under warm lights. But when they hung it outside in daylight the letters disappeared. Tested it with a color blindness simulator app after the fact. Turns out it was invisible to about 8% of men with deuteranopia. Had to redo the whole thing in dark green and cream. Anyone else find out their color picks failed in real world conditions?

Did you check the contrast ratio before painting? I always use a contrast checker online now. Learned that lesson the hard way too. Red and green got me once on a sign for a brewery. Looked fine on screen but outside it was a blurry mess. Those color blindness simulators are a must. I run everything through them before I even buy the paint now.

Oh man @the_leo, that's rough about the brewery sign... I know exactly what you mean about things looking totally different once they're out in the real world. Red and green together are just a nightmare for visibility, I swear.
