A client in Austin said my logo looked 'sickly' because of the green I picked

Had a client say the same thing about a mint green. Try adding a darker green accent or a warm brown to ground it. Sometimes a "sickly" color just needs a friend to balance it out.

Is it that deep, though?

Yeah I think the_piper actually makes a solid point here. When someone says a color looks "sickly" it usually just means it's unbalanced or needs something else to sit next to it. I've seen it happen with that sage green trend where it looks great in a big room but awful in a small dark hallway. Adding a warm brown or even a bit of mustard yellow can totally change how you see a color. Maybe it's just me but I think most "ugly" colors are just missing the right companion. So yeah I'd say it might be that deep if you want the room to actually work.
