The lady at the Ashland library told me my flier text was "fighting itself" and she was dead on
Was handing out fliers for my business at the Ashland library on a Tuesday last month and this older woman took one, held it out at arm's length, and goes "honey, your words are fighting each other." I had no clue what she meant so she pointed at the gray body text on that light blue background and said it looked like fog on a window. She pulled out her phone, turned on some setting in the accessibility menu, and showed me how the words basically vanished when she bumped the text size. I went home, ran the hex codes through a free checker and my body text was sitting at 2.9 to 1, way under the 4.5 mark. Swapped it to a dark charcoal, bumped the size one notch, and suddenly it read clean from across the room. She didn't even know me and spent 10 minutes on it. So now I'm curious, does anyone else here test their stuff at the smallest size before printing a run, or do you go by feel?
