That week I tried to design with neon green on white text... yeah
I spent all last Wednesday working on this flyer for our local farmers market here in Eugene. Used this bright neon green for the headings on a white background, thought it looked super modern and fresh. Then I printed a test copy and literally couldn't read half the words from three feet away. My buddy who's been doing print work for 15 years pointed out the contrast ratio was like 1.5 to 1, way below what's readable. Has anyone else had a color combo they thought was cool but totally failed in real life?

My buddy Ryan tried to do a dark purple logo on a black t-shirt last year for his band. Could barely see it from ten feet away. He printed fifty of them before anyone told him it was basically invisible. We still joke about his "ghost logo" shirts.

Oh man that's hilarious and I totally feel Ryan's pain haha... I tried to get cute and do a dark blue logo on a black hoodie once for a small event I was helping with. Same thing happened, you couldn't see a thing unless you were like right up on it in direct sunlight. Wasted like forty bucks on that order and just gave them away as weird "mystery hoodies" to friends... I still have one in my closet somewhere that nobody ever wears. It's like a secret club that you can't even tell exists. The ghost logo thing is perfect, I'm gonna steal that when I tell my own story...
