Spent $60 on a color contrast checker app that just says 'fail' without telling me why
Wasted an afternoon trying to fix a logo palette based on that vague fail notice and finally just eyeballed it against a gray card from my desk, has anyone else found a free tool that actually explains the contrast ratio instead of just judging it?

Read an article saying WebAIM's contrast checker gives actual ratio numbers and explainers for free.

@lily_sullivan82 WebAIM's checker is solid, I've used it a bunch. What really helped me was running a few test pages through it to get a feel for how the numbers work in practice. Did the explainers make sense for your project?

@lily_sullivan82 yeah the ratio numbers are super helpful. Once you start seeing that 4.5:1 minimum target it really clicks for small text. Have you tried plugging in your own site colors yet?
