Rant: everyone in my office pushed for bright white cards on a gray page and the contrast is awful
Last Thursday our team in Boise shipped the new dashboard with card backgrounds at #FFFFFF sitting on a #F2F2F2 page, and I flagged it in review before we pushed it out. Three people told me it looked cleaner and more modern, so I dropped it and let it go live. Two days later a coworker with low vision said she couldn't tell where the cards ended and the page began unless she leaned in close. I ran it through a contrast checker and the difference between those two colors came out around 1.1 to 1, which is basically nothing. I still think a light gray card on a slightly darker page looks better anyway, so how do you all settle these color fights without making it personal?
