Noticed the snack aisle at my local grocery store uses pale yellow text on white labels and I had to squint to read anything.

I was at Kroger on Tuesday grabbing chips and realized the new store brand packaging is almost invisible to me, has anyone else run into contrast issues in random places like that?

Got a buddy who tried reading the ingredients on a bag of store brand popcorn last week and literally had to pull out his phone flashlight to see the damn text. He said it looked like the printer ran out of ink halfway through.

That's interesting because I actually think the pale text looks cleaner and modern compared to the bold black on white most labels use. Maybe my eyes are different but I find it easier to scan for what I want without all the text screaming at me. Do you think stores are trying to push a minimalist trend or just cutting costs on packaging ink?
