Just realized that contrast checker extension I ignored for 8 months actually caught a real problem
I skipped installing the WCAG contrast checker extension for my whole last project because I figured I could eyeball gray on white just fine. Last week a client complained she couldn't read the pricing table on her phone in sunlight, so I finally ran the checker on my palette and my light gray text was at 2.9:1, way under the 4.5:1 minimum. I bumped the text to a darker gray and it hit 5.1:1, and she said it was night and day when I sent her the update on Tuesday. Now I feel dumb for trusting my eyes on a laptop screen for so long. How do you all check contrast when you're working on mobile layouts without running every single color combo?
