Just realized my old website's button colors were a total fail
I switched the main button from a light blue on white to a dark navy on a pale yellow background. The contrast ratio jumped from 2.5:1 to over 7:1, and now my friend with color blindness can actually see the call to action. What's the biggest contrast mistake you've had to fix in a design?

Wait, your original contrast was only 2.5:1? That's basically invisible! I'm shocked it got that far, that's like gray text on a slightly different gray. Good on you for catching it, but man, that's a huge oversight to start with. I bet a ton of people just clicked right past your button without even seeing it.

Ever wonder if low contrast is why our bounce rates are so high, @john_ramirez? Makes you question how many other sites are doing the same thing.

Honestly, the worst one was on a client's site. They insisted on a light gray text for their whole "about us" section. Said it looked "soft". It was basically unreadable on mobile in sunlight. Had to show them screenshots from a cheap phone to prove it.
