I thought my slide design was clear until the Q&A turned into a guessing game.

Now I check contrast before every presentation.

My last presentation had a 10 second rule for each slide. If someone couldn't get the main point that fast, I reworked it. Checking contrast is smart, but simplifying the message matters more. I spend more time cutting words than picking colors.

Yeah, the ten second rule is good, but it misses how people actually read slides. We don't start at the top left every time. @emery_brown is right about cutting words, but you also have to control where the eye goes first. If your key point is buried in a paragraph, even perfect contrast won't save you. You need a clear visual path, not just a short message.
