Hot take: I thought the built-in contrast checker in Figma was just a basic feature
I was designing a button for a client project last week and manually checking colors felt like a chore. The checker flagged my green-on-gray combo as failing for large text, which I honestly thought looked fine. Has anyone else had a design 'look' okay but actually fail a real contrast test?

My friend had this exact thing happen with a form she was making. The text label was a dark blue on a slightly lighter blue background. To our eyes it looked totally readable on her nice monitor. But the contrast checker said it failed for normal text. She tested it on her old phone in bright light and suddenly it was a real struggle to read. It was a real eye opener about how much lighting and screens change things.

Tell me about it. I've had that happen with a light gray text that looked fine in the app but completely washed out on a projector.
