Hot take: I saw a public sign in my town that was impossible to read
I was at the new community center in Oakwood last weekend and saw their event schedule posted. The text was a light grey on a white background, and my dad, who has some vision trouble, couldn't make out a single word from three feet away. It made me realize how many places just pick colors that look nice without checking if people can actually see them. Has anyone else run into a public sign or notice that completely failed a basic contrast check?

Good point. I used to roll my eyes at contrast complaints, thought people just needed to move closer or squint harder. Then my own mom couldn't read a menu at a restaurant because they used fancy gold letters on a dark brown background, and it clicked for me. Small design choices like that can really shut people out without anyone meaning to.

Yeah, I just email the place directly with a photo.

What kind of places actually answer those emails? Every time I've tried that, I either get no reply or some auto-response that doesn't help at all. It feels like sending a message into a black hole. Are you just getting lucky, or is there some trick to it? I'm genuinely curious because my success rate is basically zero.
