Gray text on navy looked fine until I printed it
I was building a flyer for our church picnic in Portland and picked a light gray body text on a dark navy background because it passed on screen at a 4.8 ratio. When I ran a test print on the office laser, the gray turned almost invisible against the navy, like the toner just ate it up. Has anyone else had a color pair that looked great digitally but failed on paper, and what did you switch to?

Did you check the contrast with the print settings on your monitor, or did you just eyeball it on screen? Toner lays down way different than a glowing screen, and gray is a pain because it thins out when it hits paper. What about bumping that gray to nearly white or adding a thin outline to keep the text readable?
