Found a quick trick for checking contrast on mobile screens

I was working on a sign-up form for a local coffee shop's loyalty app and kept second-guessing if my white text on a light tan background was readable. Ran it through my usual contrast checker and it passed, but something still felt off on my phone. Then I remembered a trick where you take a screenshot of the design and turn your phone brightness all the way down. That low brightness test made it so obvious the text was too faint near the edges. I bumped the background to a deeper tan and now it reads clear even outdoors. Does anyone else have a go-to physical test like that before they call contrast done?

Yeah that low brightness test caught me off guard too. Game changer.
