Why does nobody warn you that a missing semicolon looks like the whole file is broken?
I was on my couch in Austin last Tuesday at 11pm, staring at 40 red error lines in my little to-do app, and it was one missing semicolon on line 12. I sat there for 20 minutes convinced I'd wrecked everything, so does anyone have a trick for spotting these faster?

Line 12 in a 40 error wall is just how compilers are, they pile on after the first real break.
