Unpopular take: that guy who told me to skip learning Python basics was totally wrong

Some random dude in a coding Discord said to just jump into Django without touching Python loops or logic, and I spent 3 weeks building a broken to-do app that made zero sense. Has anyone else gotten bad advice from some self-taught guru that set them back way further than starting from scratch?

Jumping into Django without loops is insane" is putting it lightly, lmao. Like @miller.paul said, that's just asking for a broken mess. I feel bad for you man, three weeks of that sounds brutal. Someone telling you to skip the basics is honestly the worst advice you can get in coding. I've seen people do the same thing with web dev and they just end up frustrated and quitting.
