Thought static site generators were just hype until I rebuilt my personal blog with Hugo last month...
Spent 4 hours setting it up and now my page loads in under a second compared to the 5 seconds it took before, has anyone else had that moment where they finally gave in and regretted waiting so long?

Yeah the build times killed it for me too.

Page loads in under a second" is nice and all, but I actually think the build times and lack of a live backend can be a bigger headache than the speed gain is worth for most personal sites.
