Thankful I backed up my code before that hard drive crash last week
My external drive failed without warning on Tuesday night, right in the middle of finishing a simple JavaScript project, and I lost three days of work because I only had my main folder saved. The cloud backup I set up in 2022 finally paid off, but does anyone else keep a second copy of their beginner projects on a flash drive just in case?

Ha! Guess that's what we get for trusting the "it won't happen to me" method. I've got a box of old flash drives in my desk drawer with projects from 2019 that I'm too scared to throw away, but I never think to back up the stuff I'm actually working on right now. The real lesson here is that beginners like us should probably treat our code like a sandwich, make a second one just in case the first one somehow gets eaten by gremlins. Glad your cloud backup came through though, that's still more organized than my "email myself the .zip" strategy.
