Talked to my kid's teacher about my first program

I showed her a simple number guessing game I wrote in Python after two weeks of learning. She asked if I could make a version for her class to practice math. That hit different because I was just following a tutorial, but she saw it as a real tool. Now I'm trying to add a score counter and a way to pick difficulty levels. It's way harder than the basic loop I copied. Has anyone else had a simple project suddenly get real like that?

Yeah, my buddy made a basic to-do list app for himself. Then his wife, who's a nurse, asked if he could add reminders for patient meds. Suddenly he's reading about HIPAA rules and time zones, stuff he never thought about. Went from a weekend project to him buying books on databases. He said it felt like building a treehouse and then someone asks you to add plumbing.

Sounds like he's overthinking it tbh.
